General information

Evaluating requests for the observing time managed by Spain is the responsibility of the Time Allocation Committee (CAT).

The CAT, of which the Spanish astronomy community is part, is made up of a night-time division Night CAT and a solar division Solar AT.

• Night CAT
  • Proposals to the Night time CAT: for ease of management, an online request system has been put in place to allow proposals to be sent directly to the CAT (Oversubscription rates).
• Solar CAT
  • Proposal to the Solar CAT
• 5% International Time Programme (ITP): available to member organisations and to all Spanish institutions with permission from the IAC. Requests are evaluated jointly by the allocation committees of each country.

• Mons Telescope (OT): for the use of astrophysics students and amateurs.

Requests for observing time not managed by Spain should be addressed directly to the institutions that own the telescopes.
