IAC-pop:
Descriptionn:
IAC-pop
is free software based on a genetic algorithm (Pikaia).
It is aimed to the resolution of the star formation history in
galaxies or, in general, of any problem implying minimization in a
many dimensions space.
Use conditions:
There are two requirements for
using IAC-pop:

Referencing the IAC-pop
seminal paper in the publication of any work that has made use
of it. The IAC-pop seminal paper is: Aparicio, A. & Hidalgo, S.
2007, AJ submitted. The reference should appear in the
publication reference list.

Acknowledge the Stellar
Population Group of the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias for
making the program available.

Instalation and
execution:
To execute IAC-pop uncompress
the downloaded file (tar jxvf iac-pop_standalone.tar.bz2). This tar
file includes executable versions of IAC-pop for Linux, Windows and
Macintosh as well as example input and output files and a "readme"
file with the esential instruction for running the program. See the
IAC-pop reference paper (Aparicio & Hidalgo 2007) for more details.
