The assessment of COSMOlogical Structures On Medium Angular Scales (COSMOSOMAS) is shown to be an important step in the study of the fundamental parameters of the Universe through the determination of the angular power spectrum of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB). We compare the Tenerife experiment results with those of COBE, which allows strong limits to be placed on the generation of tensor mode perturbations in an inflationary scenario and of cosmological defects.
