The figure shows the complex
delta-configuration sunspot observed on July 9, 2005 at the Solar
1-meter Swedish Telescope in La Palma, Canary Islands. The Gband and Gcont sequences
of images were pre-treated with the phase diversity technique to obtain
a high resolution series. We follow the evolution of corks (movie) spread out all over the fiel-of-view at
time equals zero and moving according to the mean velocity filed
calculated for the whole time series. Read more

Velocity inside penumbrae. Bright filamentary structures are lines that separate the flow towards the umbra, in the inner penumbrae, and towards the surrounding photosphere, in the outer penumbra.
