SSPs: SEDs

SEDs at moderately high spectral resolution are computed for all the SSPs described in this Table. The spectra are named according to the following notation:

Spectral range

IMF type

IMF slope value

[M/H]

[M/H] value

(“p” for “+”, “m” for “-“)

where B, R, C and M refer to the spectral ranges [3855.50-4476.44Å], [4794.95-5465.09Å], [8348.85-8951.50Å] and [3540.5-7409.6Å] respectively. For example, the following file

Bbi1.30Zp0.00T10.0000.fits

corresponds to the spectral range [3855.50-4476.44Å] for a SSP computed with bimodal IMF of slope 1.3, solar metallicity and 10.0Gyr. The file

Bbi1.30Zp0.00T10.0000

is the corresponding ascii version for the same SSP.

UNITS:

The total mass of the SSP is 1Mo. The SSP spectra are given in units of Fλ/ Lo Mo-1Å-1.

Though not yet published we have released the SSP model spectra based on a new stellar spectral library MILES (Vazdekis et al. 2009, in prep.), which is an extension of Vazdekis 1999 models. MILES has almost 1000 stars with an unprecedented stellar atmospheric parameter coverage (Sánchez-Blázquez et al. 2006;Cenarro et al. 2007). The new SSP SEDs cover the whole optical spectral range (3540.5-7409.6Å) at 2.3Å (FWHM) and dispersion 0.9Å/pix. These new predictions are SAFE for all the metallicities and ages given in the Table above, except for the lowest metallicity ([M/H]=-2.32, Z=0.0001) for which only ages above 10Gyr are acceptable (for standard IMFs).

The spectra were grouped within tar compressed files according to their spectral ranges. These files can be retrieved from the following tables:
