GEFE group started in the 90´s

The central aim of this project is the observational and theoretical study of massive bursts of star formation, or starbursts, and their impact on galaxies. It is our intention to define the scope of these events as well as how to find the parameters related to feedback and therefrom the formation of future generations of stars.

To achieve this, a sample of starbursts has been chosen to cover the entire range of starburst activity, from nuclear starburst to those found in dwarf galaxies, and including giant HII regions in spiral and irregular galaxies.

We are funded by the IAC (P1/92, GEFE) and the spanish funding agency via
the coordinated project ESTALLIDOS (AYA2004-08260-C03-01).
