Su tesis, leída en julio de 2004, fue un “Estudio infrarrojo de estrellas OH/IR de la Vía Láctea”.

Sus temas principales de estudio son la evolución estelar en la fase AGB y post-AGB; las propiedades fotométricas en el infrarrojo de estrellas AGB ricas en oxígeno así como su variabilidad; el estudio de la emisión Maser durante la fase AGB; las condiciones físicas de las nebulosas pre-planetarias y las condiciones físicas del polvo y el gas que rodean a las estrellas LBV y Wolf-Rayet; asimismo, ha realizado estudios de Astronomía en el infrarrojo, en ondas de radio y en ondas submilimétricas.

En el proyecto Consolider-GTC realiza labores de apoyo en las tareas de investigación de los equipos que conforman el grupo que podrían beneficiarse del uso de los servicios y herramientas del Observatorio Virtual.

He read his tesis on july 2004: "An Infrared Study of Galactic OH/IR Stars".

His research has been dedicated to multi-wavelength studies of the final stages of stellar evolution, mainly concentrated in the AGB phase although in Post-AGB, LBV and Wolf-Rayet phases too. The main topics addressed have been AGB and post-AGB stellar evolution; IR photometric properties of O-rich AGB stars; Variability properties of O-rich AGB stars; Maser emission during AGB phase; Physical conditions of pre-Planetary Nebulae and physical conditions of the gas and dust surrounding LBV and Wolf-Rayet stars ; and IR, radio and sub-millimeter astronomy.

He supports the research activities of the Consolider-GTC groups that could benefit from the use of the Virtual Observatory services and tools.
