Bayes-LTE

Bayes-LTE is a computer program to carry out Bayesian inference of thermodynamical and magnetic properties of solar/stellar magnetic elements when there are gradients along the line-of-sight of the thermodynamical and magnetic properties. As any Bayesian scheme, the result are probability distribution functions for each model parameter with complete statistical significance. Additionally, it outputs the Bayesian evidence, which can be used for model comparison purposes. An example of its application can be found in the paper Asensio Ramos et al. (2012), where we compare several atmosphere models to explain a few Stokes profiles observed with different instruments.
