Projects

The group is actually involved in a large survey of the Northern Galactic Plane : IPHAS which will contribute to the discovery of hundreds of new Planetary Nebulae. The IPHAS members can access the Nebulae database here
Low-ionization microstructures in Planetary Nebulae: their origin related with the formation of the nebula. Physical properties: density, temperature and extinction; chemical abundances and interaction processes between microstructures and the nebular gas.
Physical and Chemical conditions of Bipolar Planetary Nebulae: Understanding the bipolar origin and modelling kinematics and morphology observed.
Extragalactic Planetary Nebulae in nearby galaxies, in particular of the Local Group. Detection and individual spectroscopic studies. Analysis of excitation gradients of Planetary Nebulae throught each galaxy. Chemical abundances: understanding chemical evolution of galaxies.
