STARE project
(STellar Astrophysics and Research on Exoplanets)

Since Spring 2003, the STARE observations are coordinated inside the TrES (Transatlantic Exoplanet Survey) network. This network consists of two other instruments with similar characteristics as STARE, namely PSST (Lowell Observatory, Arizona) and Sleuth (Mt. Palomar, California).

The first confirmed detected planet using the TrES network was TrES-1. It is a Jupiter-sized planet orbiting a relative bright K0V star (T-Lyr0-03507) in the Lyra field.

The STARE instrument is located at the "Observatorio del Teide" in Tenerife. STARE is operated and maintained by the "Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias" (IAC) since July 2001.

This is the local page of the STARE project at the IAC. More information can be obtained at the main page of STARE at the High Altitude Observatory, Boulder.

At IAC, STARE is part of the Research Group on Solar and Stellar Seismology and Exoplanet Searches.
