Animation of a transiting planet

The lower panel shows real data of a transit of the planet of the star HD209458. (Observations were performed in the night of 26-27 July 2000 by Deeg and Garrido at the 0.9m Sierra Nevada Telescope of IAA, Granada). The upper panel shows a simulation of the transit, with realistic size-relations between the planet and the star.
