Operations at the Technology Division are based on a matrix structure. This groups human and material resources into departments, workshops or services which are then assigned for a set period to the different projects being undertaken. This structure delivers interdisciplinary teams with a common goal: the project.
To achieve this, the Technology Division employs a group of modern project management technique specialists. Their goal is principally to coordinate the work of the different resources assigned and attain maximum efficiency in the pursuit of the project aims.
The managers develop strategies, which are reviewed at convenient intervals, to ensure that as far as possible the goals, deadlines and budgets set out at the beginning are met. To do this they use a number of software applications for planning, particularly MS Project, and organise regular or ad-hoc progress meetings to monitor the stage of the project and future projections.
