The Software Department develops software applications for astrophysical instruments. Mainly, this means the development of distributed systems to control and monitoring mechanisms, instruments and systems, as well as, data acquisition, analysis and processing systems. In the department there is expertise to implement from the control of a stepping motor or acquiring images from a high-speed camera, to develop the final user interface from which all functionality of the instrument is controlled, including all the needed external interfaces with other systems.
The working environment consists of personal computers running Linux or Windows. C/C++, Java, Python and LabView are the programming languages used.
