The Open Days 2019 of the Teide Observatory (Tenerife), held on Friday 14 and Saturday 15 June, welcomed nearly 2,000 visitors (460 on Friday and 1,530 on Saturday).

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the visitors were able to see some of the telescopes of this astrophysical complex, including the IAC-80, the Carlos Sánchez Telescope, the Solar Laboratory and the QUIJOTE Experiment. More than 30 professional volunteers from the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC) offered explanations at each of these telescopes.

These Open Days, organized annually by the IAC, aim to bring astronomical knowledge to the general public and to explain the cutting-edge astronomical research being carried out in Tenerife to all those interested in visiting the Teide Observatory.
