The scientific part of the workshop will be divided in four main sessions, running from Tuesday October 23th to Thursday October 25th. The main topics that we envisage to be treated in each of these sessions are described below:

Session 1, the SONG Project:

  • Project Overview
  • Instrument, data reduction techniques, operations
  • SONG Data Archive (SODA), TAC functioning
  • Challenges and plans
  • Education and Public Outreach activities and materials

Session 2, Science with SONG:

  • Asteroseismology of bright stars (solar-like and classical pulsators, massive stars ...)
  • Sun-as-a-star: synoptic programs and Helioseismology
  • Planet-hosting stars and Exoplanets
  • Spectroscopic characterization of single stars and multiple systems

Session 3, SONG challenges; complementarities and synergies:

  • Lessons learned
  • SONG in context (Gaia, TESS, K2, BRITE, PLATO, JWST, HARPS, CARMENES ...)

Session 4, Conclusions

  • Round table - open discussion
  • Conclusions and way forward
