Research interests
My work deals with the characterisation of low-mass stars and substellar objects in the solar neighbourhood, in open clusters, and young star-forming regions as well as the search for extrasolar planets around low-mass stars.
- Search for nearest and coolest low-mass stars and brown dwarfs in the solar neighbourhood
- Search for low-mass stars and brown dwarfs in open clusters and star-forming regions. Optical and near-infrared photometry and spectroscopy are employed to uncover cluster members as well as proper motions when available
- Low-mass eclipsing binaries
- Search for companions to nearby brown dwarfs and substellar members in clusters
- Search and charaterisation of ultracool subdwarfs in archival databases
- Search for cool white dwarfs in the UKIDSS Large Area Survey
- Search for extrasolar planets around M dwarfs
