    This morning at a press conference at the IAC the latest study of the economic and social impact of the Astrophysics Sector in the Canaries was presented, carried out by a team from the University of La Laguna and directed by the economist Professor Juan José Díaz Hernández. The “Astrophysics Sector” in the Canaries comprises the IAC, the numerous scientific institutions from around the world who work at the Canary Observatories, by the related industry dedicated to the sector, and by the services related to these installations.     During his last visit to the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC) we talked to the Director of the National Solar Observatory (NSO) of the United States about the launching of the Parker Solar Probe, among other subjects.   • Paralajes magazine cover
    The most recent edition of "Paralajes" magazine, of the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC) deals with the role of women in astronomy, picking out important figures in the history of this science until the present day, with special emphasis on the women scientists and engineers working in the IAC projects. This magazine is part of the project "The return of Henrietta Leavitt", an IAC initiative with the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) collaboration.
