Visits

The Teide Observatory opens its doors to different groups of users. You will be able to visit some of the telescopes and learn more about the work we do.

There are Open Days each year. Over two days, our astronomers will show you the Observatory’s telescopes and explain their use. 

Open days at the Teide Observatory 2023

The Open Days (JJPPAA) will be held on 23 and 24 June, free of charge, in Spanish and lasting 3.5 hours. To participate in this activity it is essential to register through the form. Only those who receive confirmation of their place will be able to access the Observatory. Before registering, please read the general rules.

Private and group visits

Private and group visits may be given guided tours of Teide Observatory by making a prior reservation. Admission for children under 16 is free and there is a discount for residents.

Educational centres and associations

Visits to Teide Observatory by Spanish educational centres are free of charge. It can be ordered via this link, at a cost of 0€.

IMPORTANT: Visits are suspended from December to March owing to adverse meteorological conditions. Visits are resumed from September onwards. 

Media

Any agencies, producers, and media, in general, wishing to film or photograph Observatory facilities, both exterior* and interior, should consult the general regulations and access the Online Site. This request should be sent at least FIFTEEN (15) working days before arrival. If this condition is not met, we do not guarantee the management of the visit.

Once filming has been approved, you will be sent an authorized recording schedule.
