Astronomical Research

Who am I, and why is this page here? I'm a postdoctoral researcher (and onetime support astronomer) at the Instituto de Astrofisíca de Canarias, involved in both observational and theoretical studies of nearby galaxies, with an eye towards finding, characterizing, and (hopefully) understanding peculiar central structures, such as nuclear rings and multiple bars. I'm also involved studying the central regions of elliptical galaxies, and seeing how these relate to supermassive black holes in the centers of galaxies. And I've recently become involved in galaxy evolution studies as well.

For more information, see my Research Page.

Pretty Pictures:Images of two galaxies (originally presented at the June, 1996, meeting of the American Astronomical Society), are available for viewing here: NGC 2273 and NGC 2655.
