Gender Equality Policy



As established by Law 3/2007, of March 22, for the effective equality of women and men, it is the wish of the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC) to enforce the right to equal treatment and opportunities between women and men through the implementation of the preventive and corrective measures necessary to guarantee that no direct or indirect discrimination may occur, whatever the circumstance or condition of its staff.

The Gender Equality Commission (CI) of the IAC is the body in charge of advising and detecting the measures and necessary or convenient actions to actively integrate the principle of equality between women and men in the IAC, the preparation of Gender Equality Plan's proposals (GEP), its implementation and follow-up. It is also the channel to detect the needs and receive suggestions that may arise in terms of effective equality between women and men in the IAC.

The IAC adhered to the Protocol of action against sexual harassment and harassment based on sex of the Spanish Science and Innovation Ministry
