RESEARCH INTERESTS

I am presently a postdoctoral fellow at the Instituto de Astrofisica de Canarias (IAC) located in Tenerife, Spain. I received my Ph.D. degree in physics and astronomy from the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich (LMU), working at the Max-Planck Institut for Extraterrestrial Physics (MPE) in Garching, Germany.

My research interests include:
  • Physics of Active Galactic Nuclei
  • Black hole masses, scaling relationships and their evolution
  • Starburst galaxies
  • Nuclear and Super Star Clusters in galaxies
  • Galaxy interactions and mergers
  • Astronomical instrumentation: interferometry, integral field spectroscopy and adaptive optics (VLT, LBT, GTC)
For more information about me, please have a look at my curriculum vitae (PDF) and list of publications (PDF and ADS server query). Please note that when searching for my papers on ADS, you have to search for both "Muller Sánchez" and "Müller Sánchez" if you want to find all of my papers. In addition, in order to avoid confusion with my two last names, since January 2010, I am publishing as Francisco Müller-Sánchez (my two last names separated by a dash).
