Katrina Exter
Integral (see how wee it is) and me
|
Current Position: Euro3D Research Training Network PostDoc at the IAC
This means I will be working a lot (but not only) with the IAC's IFU (integrated field unit), which
is on the WHT as a visitor instrument. It is called
Integral. If you want to know about Integral you can contact me using the
details given below, and the web page
for it can be accessed at the ING via "instruments" at ING,
and
also via the IAC at IAC
(under some construction).

Studies and Previous Postdocs
BSc from University College Cardif (Wales, UK)
MSc in radio astronomy at Jodrell Bank, Manchester, UK
PhD from St Andrews University (Scotland, UK) on Galactic bulge planetary nebulae
A postdoc at the N. Kopernicus Astronomical Centre in Warsaw, Poland
A short time at University College London, UK
A postdoc at Queen's University Belfast (N. Ireland, UK).
Research Interests
3D spectroscopy of planetary nebulae, especially abundance variations,
and velocity fields if I get data with an IFU+echelle
3D spectroscopy of any other type of stellar outflow, e.g. symbiotic
stars, HH objects; although I've not done much on this SO if
you are interested in a collaboration - get in touch!
3D and multi-object spectroscopy of extragalactic planetary nebulae
IFU studies of stars in other galaxies (e.g. LMC star forming
region)
IFU studies of gaseous environments in other galxies (e.g. HII
regions and abundance gradient, starburst environments, stellar winds and the
ISM)
Close binary stars, especially irradiated systems
P Cygni, especially radio observations.
Publications:
I know it's being lazy, but check me out in ADS for publications, or the
occasional adverts in the Hotstar or AGB newsletters. For the latest
information on E3D work that I will be producing, you can of course send
me an email. I like getting emails.
a mi, me gusta...
Things that I like.... poco a poco I will be linking in personal stuff here,
so all my friends can see what I'm getting up to (trust me, it will be boring for
anyone else to look at).
So see photos of what
it
is like around here and the various holidays I've been on.
