Who is who in CanariCam?

CanariCam is being developed in the Infrared Astronomy Group at the University of Florida (UF) in Gainesville. Most of the instrument will be built in the laboratories and workshops at Gainesville, although there is important input into its design from a number of other institutions.

The extent of the UF's commitment to CanariCam has been demonstrated by their signing on October 17th 2001 of a 5% participation in the GTC, with the option to extend this to 10% as funding becomes available and the important strengthening of the IR group, both with additional scientific and engineering staff, to facilitate their participation in CanariCam.

Many, but not all,  of the UF CanariCam team members (past and present) are shown below in a picture taken at the CanariCam Preliminary Design Review: (left to right) Glenn Sellar (optics), David Hon (software), Frank Varosi (software), Chris Packham (optics, deputy PI), Robert Pina (systems), Roger Julian (Project Manager), Jeff Julian (thermal/mechanical), Kevin Hanna (electronics), and Charlie Telesco (PI).

The UF team members, including some not shown in the photo above, are:
