NEWS!!

* New plots in colour.  If you have problems with your screen colormap, you might want to consider using the grey version.

* Instrument Calibrations:  We are checking if we have internal reflections inside the optical bench.  While this is being done, we have no readings (apart from dark current) at the TRANSMISSION MONITOR.  However, we can use values at the SCATTERING PHOTOMULTIPLIERS, which is also accurate to measure solar light input.  Atmospheric extinction calculated in this way may be a little bit different since scattered light is measured at a narrower band.  Moreover, the automatic filtering routine that clean data from clouds needs some extra adjustments to remove those dirty points... (January the 5th, 2006)

* We have got observation time at the 0.8m IAC80 night telescope.  4 nights/month from March to August (2006) in order to continue our detailed study of the atmospheric extinction.  We will offer daylight statistics very soon and in a few months we will add night values.  (December 2005)

* Calima (dust) storm: July the 22nd (2004) during the afternoon => see plots. Notice how dust changes the atmosphere transparency (extinction goes from 0.2 to almost 3). Webcam picture "showing"... el Teide?.

These plots should be updated automatically every 2-3 hours. Historical files may be found here (not working) or be requested by e-mail.
