The XXXIV Canary Islands Winter School of Astrophysics, organized by the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC), focuses on the formation and the evolution of galaxies in the Local Group. The
Since 1989, the best global specialists in a subject of special interest in Astrophysics teach and live, for two weeks a year, with young astrophysicists from around the world in the Canary Islands Winter School of Astrophysics. The lessons of these schools are published by Cambridge University Press, forming a specific series.
Applications invited from doctoral students and recently qualified Doctors of Astrophysics.
During the schools, students have the opportunity to:
- receive a comprehensive update on a current subject of great interest in astronomy.
- exchange information with the best Astrophysicists.
- visit the Observatorio del Roque de los Muchachos (La Palma) and the Observatorio del Teide (Tenerife).
