Description
In this talk we first make a review on gravitational lensing and microlensing as an introduction, followed by a discussion on the most recent work of our group. The analysis of the spectral data for a sample of lensed systems leads to the extension of the (controversial) results from the Milky Way/LMC/M31 MACHOs up to a sample of galactic halos at cosmological distances, supporting the hypothesis of the very low or even null content in compact objects in galactic halos in general.

  • The mystery of the galaxy without dark matter

    Using CGMS deep integral field data we have discovered that the massive galaxy NGC 1277 has no dark matter. This is the first time that a galaxy as massive as the Milky Way or more is found to be dark matter deficient. This result is unexpected within the Lambda-CDM cosmological paradigm.
