Dr Carlos Dominguez is a postdoctoral researcher in the SUBSTELLAR Group at the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC). His current research interests are the analysis of substellar objects by NIR spectroscopy.

He was awarded a PhD in astrophysics from the Universidad de La Laguna and has worked as a postdoctoral researcher in prestigious institutions in Spain, France and Germany. He was awarded with a EU-FP7 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, research fellowship.

Dr Dominguez research experience spans over different areas in astrophysics, from stellar physics to cosmology. He has helped to improve spectroscopic techniques as multi object (MOS) and integral field (IFS). He has also collaborated in the development of remarkable instruments for astrophysics, such as LIRIS for the WHT, GTC, PHI for ESA Solar Orbiter mission and GRIS for GREGOR. He is known as an astrophysicist with passion for spectroscopy. He is currently retrieving some of the best spectra from ESA Euclid Mission for the study of ultracool dwarfs.
