The Instituto de Astronomía de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (IA-UNAM), the Instituto Nacional de Astrofísica, Óptica y Electrónica (INAOE) and the Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACYT), all on behalf of Mexico, and the University of Florida, on behalf of the United States, have entered into pre-agreements to participate as partners in the Gran Telescopio Canarias (GTC).
