  • JEM-EUSO: Meteor and nuclearite observations
Meteor and fireball observations are key to the derivation of both the inventory and physical characterization of small solar system bodies orbiting in the vicinity of the Earth. For several decades, observation of these phenomena has only been possible via ground-based instruments. The proposed JEM-EUSO mission has the potential to become the

  • JEM-X observations of the Be/X-ray binary EXO 2030+375
We have used data from the Joint European Monitor (JEM-X) to perform an X-ray spectral and timing analysis of the 42-s transient pulsar EXO 2030+375 during an X-ray outburst. X-ray pulsations are clearly detected with an average pulse period of 41.66+/-0.05 s and an average pulse fraction of 60%. The profile of the energy spectrum did not change

  • Jet Trails and Mach Cones: The Interaction of Microquasars with the Interstellar Medium
A subset of microquasars exhibits high peculiar velocity with respect to the local standard of rest due to the kicks they receive when being born in supernovae. The interaction between the radio plasma released by microquasar jets from such high-velocity binaries with the interstellar medium must lead to the production of trails and bow shocks

  • JHK photometry of CBJC 8 sources (Persi+, 2011)
Coordinates (J2000) and JHK photometry are given for the 493 sources detected with PANIC on Baade Telescope in an area of 111"x111" centred on G85.40+0.00 as well as photometry in the four IRAC bands measured on archive frames of the same area. (2 data files).

  • K 4-47: a planetary nebula excited by photons and shocks
K 4-47 is an unusual planetary nebula (PN) composed of a compact high-ionization core and a pair of low-ionization knots. Long-slit medium-resolution spectra of the knots and core are analyzed in this paper. Assuming photoionization from the central star, we have derived physical parameters for all the nebular components, and the ionization

  • K2-114b and K2-115b: Two Transiting Warm Jupiters
We report the first results from a search for transiting warm Jupiter exoplanets—gas giant planets receiving stellar irradiation below about 108 erg s‑1 cm‑2, equivalent to orbital periods beyond about 10 days around Sun-like stars. We have discovered two transiting warm Jupiter exoplanets initially identified as transiting candidates in K2
