  • A composite H ii region luminosity function in Hα of unprecedented statistical weight
Context: .Statistical properties of H ii region populations in disk galaxies yield important clues to the physics of massive star formation. Aims: .We present a set of H ii region catalogues and luminosity functions for a sample of 56 spiral galaxies in order to derive the most general form of their luminosity function. Methods: .H ii region

  • A consideration of the solar cycle in the light of the behavior of the large active regions
The solar cycle was studied by considering only the large active regions (AR), with small region data being ignored. Results show that at birth almost all the large AR display the correct inclination (p-part at lower latitude) while the small AR show random behavior. The maximum latitude attained by the large AR is lower by 10 deg than that of the

  • A Database for Galaxy Evolution Modeling
This paper represents a collective effort to provide an extensive electronic database useful for the interpretation of the spectra and evolution of galaxies. A broad variety of empirical and theoretical data are discussed here, and the data are made fully available in the AAS CD-ROM Series, Vo. 7. Several empirical stellar libraries are part of
