  • Photometric study of the Moon with SMART-1/AMIE
The Advanced Moon micro-Imager Experiment (AMIE) onboard the ESA SMART-1 lunar mission performed imaging of the Moon between November 2004 and September 2006, when the mission was ended by crashing the spacecraft into the lunar surface. AMIE was a 1024X1024 pixel miniaturized CCD camera with three colour filters and a panchromatic channel (clear

  • Photometric binaries in 50 globular clusters
The HST/ACS Survey of Galactic globular clusters (GGCs) is a HST Treasury project aimed at obtaining high precision photometry in a large sample of globular clusters. The homogeneous photometric catalogs that has been obtained from these data by Anderson et al. (2008) represents a golden mine for a lot of astrophysical studies. In this paper we

  • Optical-near infrared photometry of the Galactic globular cluster NGC 6441 .
We present optical- near infrared photometry of the peculiar Galactic globular cluster NGC 6441. By using the K-band Period-Luminosity-Metallicity (PLZK) of its RR Lyrae stars, we supply a new estimate of its distance. With this distance, we discuss the comparison in the K-(J-K) plane between observations and "canonical" evolutionary models.

  • On the radial distribution of white dwarfs in the Galactic globular cluster omega Cen
We present deep and accurate photometry (F435W, F625W, F658N) of the Galactic Globular Cluster omega Cen collected with the Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS) on board the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). We identified ≈ 6,500 white dwarf (WD) candidates and compared their radial distribution with that of Main Sequence (MS) stars. We found a mild

  • Observations of the Giant Radio Galaxy M87 in the 100 GeV Energy Domain with the MAGIC Telescope
Since 2005 the giant radio galaxy M87 has been observed in the 100 GeV energy domain with the MAGIC Telescope. Results from the analysis of those observations will be presented.
