  • Magnesium Isotope Ratios in Hyades Stars
Using classical model atmospheres and an LTE analysis, Mg isotope ratios 24Mg:25Mg:26Mg are measured in 32 Hyades dwarfs covering effective temperatures 4000K

  • Looking for Gravity-Mode Multiplets with the GOLF Experiment aboard SOHO
This paper is focused on the search for low-amplitude solar gravity modes between 150 and 400 μHz, corresponding to low-degree, low-order modes. It presents results based on an original strategy that looks for multiplets instead of single peaks, taking into consideration our knowledge of the solar interior from acoustic modes. Five years of quasi

  • Internal dynamics of the radio-halo cluster A2219: A multi-wavelength analysis
We present the results of the dynamical analysis of the rich, hot, and X-ray very luminous galaxy cluster A2219, containing a powerful diffuse radio-halo. Our analysis is based on new redshift data for 27 galaxies in the cluster region, measured from spectra obtained at the TNG, with the addition of other 105 galaxies recovered from reduction of

  • Environmental Effects in the Structural Parameters of Galaxies in the Coma Cluster
We have studied 116 bright galaxies from the Coma Cluster brighter than mr=17 mag. From a quantitative morphological analysis we find that the scales of the disks are smaller than those of field spiral galaxies. There is a correlation between the scale of the disks and the position of the galaxy in the cluster; no large disks are present near the

  • DW Cancri: a magnetic VY Scl star with an orbital period of 86 min
We present the first time-resolved spectroscopic study of the cataclysmic variable DW Cancri. We have determined an orbital period of 86.10 +/- 0.05 min, which places the system very close to the observed minimum period of hydrogen-rich cataclysmic variables. This invalidates previous speculations of DW Cnc being either a permanent superhumper
