Gamma-rays from massive stars in Cygnus and OrionRadioactive 26Al, ejected by massive stars through winds and supernova explosions, leads to γ-ray line emission that can serve as a probe of the interstellar environment in and near young star clusters. The ˜ 1 Myr decay time of 26Al is long enough to allow transport over significant distances, which can cause substantial angular offsets between γDiehl, Roland et al.

Dynamic activity in the outer atmospheres of late-type stars including the sunStars of solar type and cooler often display dramatic effects of magnetic fields in their atmosphere. These effects vary from relatively placid phenomena such as the dark photospheric spots and plages where there is enhanced emission in ionised calcium and magnesium to the much more energetic flares which erupt over short time scales. All of theseGarcia-Alvarez, David

Candidate LBVs in Local Group galaxiesWe present the results of photometric searches for LBV candidates (LBVc) made in some Local Group galaxies. We found eight candidates in a southern region of M 33 with characteristics similar to Var B and Var C. In IC 10, a galaxy without any LBV or LBVc reported before, we found one candidate.Corral, L.
