  • Very energy observations of PSR B1951+32
PSR B1951+32 is a γ-ray pulsar detected by the Energetic Gamma Ray Experiment Telescope (EGRET) and identified with the 39.5 ms radio pulsar in the supernova remnant CTB 80. The EGRET data shows no evidence for a spectral turnover. Here we report on the first observations of PSR B1951+32 beyond 30 GeV. The observations were carried out with the 10

  • Old Populations and the Star Formation History of the Local Group Dwarf Irregular Galaxy NGC 6822
A method for studying the full star formation history (SFH) of nearby galaxies,as a function of time, has been developped and implemented. For the first time, the full SFH of a nearby dwarf irregular galaxy (DIG) has been retrieved from the photometry of its resolved stars. NGC~6822 has been observed in $UBVRI$ at the 2.5m INT telescope, at the

  • Hot Evolved Objects in Different Parent Galaxies: The Stellar Winds of Three Planetary Nebula Nuclei in the Large Magellanic Cloud
Three planetary nebulae in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) were observed with the Faint Object Spectrograph on board the Hubble Space Telescope. Their central stars display P Cygni--like features in the ultraviolet. We modeled these profiles to derive the stellar wind velocities. The wind velocities of the LMC planetary nebula nuclei (PNNs) are

  • Lithium depletion in CABs (Barrado y Navascues+ 1997)
We included 2 tables containing photometric data, together equivalent width of LiI6708 A, for a sample of dwarf components of Chromospherically Active Binaries (CABs). (3 data files).

  • Luminous Red Stars in Local Group Dwarf Elliptical Galaxies: an Intermediate-Age Population?
In this Letter, we show that the optically bright stars above the tip of the first red giant branch (TRGB) in the color-magnitude diagrams (CMDs) of nearby dwarf elliptical (dE) galaxies, commonly interpreted as indication of the existence of an intermediate-age population, may be, in certain circumstances, an artifact of observational effects on a
