Emergencies and alerts

In case of emergency

If an emergency arise during your stay at Teide Observatory, you must follow the emergency procedure.

Report to Observatory Recepción (internal 1100, external +34922329110) about any risk situation, incident or accident.

The person in charge of coordinating the Emergency Plan COE (Emergency Operations Coordinator, Coordinador de Operaciones de Emergencia)  will be:

  • MOT (Mantenimiento OT): during 8h a 18h -working days- (ext. 7100 o 7121)
  • Astrofísico Residente Operación Telescopios : during 18h-8h (ext. 7702)

The Director of the Emergency Plan will be,

  • The Administrator of Observatory (ext. 7364) or
  • The Head of General Maintenance of the Observatory (ext 7121)

The OT Recepción  (ext 1100) will be the GIO (Operational Intervention Group, Grupo de Intervención Operativa).

You must also keep in mind the basic rules governing safety and prevention of risks in the workplace.
