    The Agreement for the use of the IACTEC building has been signed
    The Cabildo Insular of Tenerife, the Tenerife Science and Technology Park (INtech Tenerife), the University of La Laguna (ULL) and the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC) today, Monday 8th June signed, at the Headquarters of the Cabildo, the five year agreement for the use of the IACTec building by the IAC. The IACTEC initiative, in collaboration with the Cabildo Insular of Tenerife and INTech Tenerife, on land ceded by the University of La Laguna, is aimed at developing in the Canaries an innovative environment for the transfer of high technology between the public sector and

    El proyecto educativo "CosmoLAB" cumple dos años
    Gracias a este proyecto educativo, más de 200 profesores se han formado ya en los distintos cursos ofrecidos y han realizado actividades con 7.700 estudiantes de Primaria, Secundaria, Bachillerato y Formación Profesional en 90 centros escolares de Tenerife.     The astronomer Guido Münch, a great friend of the IAC, has died
    Professor Guido Münch was the first astronomer to receive the Principe de Asturias Prize for Scientific and Technical Investigation in 1989 for which he was proposed by the IAC. His contributions to science included both theoretical and observational analysis of the atmosphere of the Sun and of the stars, as well as technolgical contributions which were important for the space exploration programmes Mariner, Viking, and Pioneer. Guido Münch lived for several years (1992-1996) in Tenerife, attracted by the IAC, and its observatories, and he attended conferences such as that held in La Palma
