  • Data Reduction Pipeline for EMIR, the Near-IR Multi-Object Spectrograph for GTC
EMIR (Balcells et al. 2000) is a near-infrared wide-field camera and multi-object spectrograph being built for the GTC. The Data Reduction Pipeline (DRP) will be optimized for handling and reducing near-infrared data acquired with EMIR.

  • Colors of intermediate z bulges in the GOYA survey
The chronology of bulge and disk formation is a major unsolved issue in galaxy formation, which impacts on our global understanding of the Hubble sequence. We present colors of the nuclear regions of intermediate-redshift disk galaxies, with the aim of obtaining empirical information of ages of bulges at 0.1 < z < 1.3.

  • An evolutionary sequence of expanding hydrogen shells in galaxy discs
Aims:Large HI shells, with diameters of hundreds of pc and expansion velocities of 10-20 km s-1 have been detected in their hundreds in the Milky Way and are well observed features of local gas rich galaxies. These shells could well be predicted as a result of the impact of OB associations on the ISM, but doubt has been cast on this scenario by the

  • A spectroscopic study of the β Cephei star 12 (DD) Lacertae
We present first results of a spectroscopic multisite campaign for 12 (DD) Lacertae (hereinafter 12 Lac). This star is one of the best observed β Cephei stars. It has a large number of known oscillation frequencies but a lack of identified m-values for its detected modes. In our data set we find seven independent frequencies together with
