  • Research and Development for HI Intensity Mapping
The paper outlines research and development needed over the next decade to enable three-dimension mapping of the Universe using the 21 cm line of neutral hydrogen.

  • Quantifying the AGN-driven outflows in ULIRGs (QUADROS) IV: HST/STIS spectroscopy of the sub-kpc warm outflow in F14394+5332
Considerable uncertainties remain about the nature of warm, AGN-driven outflows and their impact on the evolution of galaxies. This is because the outflows are often unresolved in ground-based observations. As part of a project to study the AGN outflows in some of the most rapidly evolving galaxies in the local Universe, here we present Hubble

  • Puzzling blue dips in the black hole candidate Swift J1357.2 - 0933, from ULTRACAM, SALT, ATCA, Swift, and NuSTAR
We present rapid, multiwavelength photometry of the low-mass X-ray binary Swift J1357.2-0933 during its 2017 outburst. Using several sets of quasi-simultaneous ULTRACAM/NTT (optical), NuSTAR (X-ray), XRT/Swift (X-ray), SALT (optical), and ATCA (radio) observations taken during outburst decline, we confirm the frequent optical dipping that has

  • Properties of extragalactic thick discs recovered from ultra-deep Stripe82 imaging
Context. Thick discs can give invaluable information on the formation and evolution history of galaxies as most, if not all, disc galaxies have a thin (classical) disc and a thick disc. Aims: We study the structure of thick discs in extraordinary depth by reaching a surface brightness limit of μrdeep ˜ 28.5-29 mag arcsec-2 with combined g, r, i

  • PRIMitive Asteroids Spectroscopic Survey Library - PRIMASS-L: latest results
In 2010 we started a spectroscopic survey to obtain visible and near-infrared spectra of primitive asteroids in the main belt. The main objective was to characterize the collisional families located in the inner part of the belt, and believed to be the origin of primitive near-Earth asteroids, in particular those that are the targets of two sample

  • Possible Hydrated Minerals on Pole Regions of (162173) Ryugu by ONC-T Observations
Based on the observations by the optical navigation camera on the Hayabusa2 spacecraft, stronger 0.7-micron band absorption, which might attribute to hydrated minerals, was found on the pole regions of the C-type asteroid Ryugu. This could be because of less irradiation rate from the Sun.
