From 2021 December 1st, the Teide Observatory opens its doors to different groups of users. You will be able to visit some of the telescopes and learn more about the work we do.
There are Open Days each year. Over two days, our astronomers will show you the Observatory’s telescopes and explain their use.
Only IAC personnel
Private and group visits may be given guided tours of Teide Observatory by making a prior reservation.
Visits to Teide Observatory by Spanish educational centres are free of charge.
IMPORTANT: Visits are suspended from December to March owing to adverse meteorological conditions. Visits are resumed from April onwards.
Any agencies, producers, and communications media, in general, wishing to film or photograph Observatory facilities, both exterior* and interior, should consult the general regulations and access the Online Site.
Once filming has been approved, you will be sent an authorized recording schedule. If you have any doubts or questions not addressed in this page, you can phone 922 605 183 from 9:00 to 14:00 (local time) from Monday to Friday.
(*) Lights are forbidden in the Observatory grounds after sunset.
