  • DG Leo uvby differential photometry (Lampens+, 2005)
The first table (dataset1) contains 1590 data points collected with 1.5m telescopes equipped with conventional photometers at the observatories of San Pedro Martir, (OAN, Mexico) and Sierra Nevada, (OSN, Spain) at the following epochs: February 4-17 2002, January 8-14 2003 and March 17-19 2004 (Data Set 1). The data consist of differential

  • Carbon, Nitrogen, and Oxygen Galactic Gradients: A Solution to the Carbon Enrichment Problem
Eleven models of Galactic chemical evolution, differing in the carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen yields adopted, have been computed to reproduce the Galactic O/H values obtained from H II regions. All the models fit the oxygen gradient, but only two models also fit the carbon gradient, those based on carbon yields that increase with metallicity owing to

  • BS Indi: An enigmatic object in the Tucana association
BS Ind (=HD 202947) is a young K0V star in the Tucana association. Photometric observations with the Hipparcos satellite show an eclipse-like light-curve with primary and secondary eclipse. The eclipsing binary has a period of 0.435338 days and a circular orbit. Our spectroscopic observations however show that the K0V primary is a single-line

  • Asymmetrical structure of ionization and kinematics in the Seyfert galaxy NGC 5033
We present integral field spectroscopy of NGC 5033, a low luminosity Seyfert galaxy. The observations were made with INTEGRAL, a fiber based system operating at the WHT. The intensity map of the Hβ emission line represents a spiral or ring-like pattern of HII regions. On the contrary, the [OIII] intensity map morphology is markedly anisotropic. The

  • Abundance anomalies in hot horizontal branch stars of the galactic globular cluster NGC1904
We present abundance measurements, based on high-resolution optical spectroscopic data obtained with the Ultraviolet and Visual Echelle Spectrograph mounted on Kueyen (Very Large Telescope UT2), for ten stars in the extended blue horizontal branch of the Galactic globular cluster NGC 1904 (M79). In agreement with previous findings for other
