Descripción
B-magnitudes have been compiled from the literature for 3C 345, covering a period from 1965 to 1980, 905 values in all. Since the last major study of the light-curve of this object (Barbieri et al., 1977), new and also revised data have been presented, which extend the light-curve and improve the temporal resolution. A compilation of the observations and a detailed Fourier analysis are presented here and compared with previous studies. No true periodicities are revealed, in contradiction to some previously published conclusions, however, the possibility of the existence of short and medium-term duration pseudo-periodicities cannot be ruled out. A stochastic shot rate of 2.6 events per year is suggested, from the presence of a broad peak in the power spectrum at this frequency.
