  • X-Exoplanets: An X-ray and EUV Database for Exoplanets
Extreme ultraviolet (EUV) and X-ray emission is of great importance in several phenomena related to the formation of planetary systems and the atmospheres of planets. The atmospheric composition and the mass of an exoplanet are partly dependent on the X-ray and EUV radiation received during the first stages of formation and even during main

  • X-ray Detection of the Supersoft Source Phase of Nova Vul 2007
We report the X-ray detection of Nova Vul 2007 (S. Nakano, IAUC 8861) with the Swift X-ray Telescope in a 6.7ks observation obtained on 2007 October 18 at UT 01:05. The XRT spectrum contains 192 X-ray photons and is largely consistent with a thermal plasma model with temperature kT=0.2 +0.4/-0.07 keV and absorbing column NH=(8 +2/-3)e21 cm^-2. A

  • X-Ray High Resolution Spectra in the VO: The case of XMM-Newton RGS Data
We present ``BiRD'', a tool for the browsing and visualisation of XMM-Newton high-resolution spectra. The dataset accessed by this utility consists of RGS spectra uniformly processed and calibrated, and fits therefore very nicely into the VO framework. The tool here described provides also additional information that can be relevant to the

  • X-Ray Nuclear Activity in S4G Barred Galaxies: No Link between Bar Strength and Co-occurrent Supermassive Black Hole Fueling
Stellar bars can lead to gas inflow toward the center of a galaxy and stimulate nuclear star formation. However, there is no compelling evidence on whether they also feed a central supermassive black hole: by measuring the fractions of barred active and inactive galaxies, previous studies have yielded conflicting results. In this paper, we aim to

  • X-ray softening in the new X-ray transient XTE J1719-291 during its 2008 outburst decay
The X-ray transient XTE J1719-291 was discovered with Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer/Proportional Counter Array (RXTE/PCA) during its outburst in 2008 March, which lasted at least 46 d. Its 2-10 keV peak luminosity is 7 × 1035 erg s-1 assuming a distance of 8 kpc, which classifies the system as a very faint X-ray transient. The outburst was monitored
