  • Higher depletion of lithium in planet host stars: no age and mass effect
Recent observational work by Israelian et al. has shown that sun-like planet host stars in the temperature range 700 K Teff 5850 K have lithium abundances that are significantly lower than those observed for “single” field stars. In this letter we use stellar evolutionary models to show that differences in stellar mass and age are not responsible

  • Green's Functions for Far-Side Seismic Images: A Polar-Expansion Approach
We have computed seismic images of magnetic activity on the far surface of the Sun by using a seismic-holography technique. As in previous works, the method is based on the comparison of waves going in and out of a particular point in the Sun, but we have computed here Green's functions from a spherical polar expansion of the adiabatic wave

  • Follow-Up of Comet-Asteroid Transition Object 107P Wilson-Harrington During Its 2009 Return to Perihelium
We have been monitoring 107P comet-asteroid transition object during its 2009 return to perihelium. We have been unable of identifying any trace of cometary activity until Dec. 8, 2009.

  • Estimating the impact of recombination uncertainties on the cosmological parameter constraints from cosmic microwave background experiments
We use our most recent training set for the RICO code to estimate the impact of recombination uncertainties on the posterior probability distributions which will be obtained from future cosmic microwave background experiments, and in particular the Planck satellite. Using a Monte Carlo Markov Chain (MCMC) analysis to sample the posterior
