  • Double-peak structure in the cyclic optical outbursts of blazar OJ 287.
An international monitoring project, called OJ-94, was set up with the aim of monitoring blazar OJ 287 during the predicted optical outburst (in fall 1994, Sillanpaa et al. 1988ApJ...325..628S) and the predicted secondary outburst (in winter 1995-1996, Sillanpaa et al. 1996A&A...305L..17S). The most prominent features in the OJ 287 light curve

  • Bimodal dust emission in three classical Seyfert galaxies: NGC 3227, NGC 4051 and NGC 4151.
Far Infrared observations of the Seyfert galaxies NGC 3227, NGC 4051 and NGC 4151 are presented. These are the first data from a complete sample of Seyfert galaxies that is being observed by ISO as part of the ISOPHOT guaranteed time. The new ISO data, in combination with the IRAS data, show that the mid to far IR emission in all three objects can

  • A Database for Galaxy Evolution Modeling
This paper represents a collective effort to provide an extensive electronic database useful for the interpretation of the spectra and evolution of galaxies. A broad variety of empirical and theoretical data are discussed here, and the data are made fully available in the AAS CD-ROM Series, Vo. 7. Several empirical stellar libraries are part of

  • A Companion Nuclear Bulge to the Seyfert Ring Galaxy NGC 985
Subarcsecond optical broad band images of the Seyfert galaxy NGC 985 are presented. A second nucleus located 3.8" NW of the Seyfert nucleus is clearly revealed by these images and confirmed by the study of its colors and brightness profile. We claim that this object is a spheroidal bulge with an absolute magnitude M_B_ = -16.6, and that it is
