  • Azimuthal offsets in spiral arms of nearby galaxies
Spiral arms play a central role in disc galaxies, but their dynamical nature remains a long-standing open question. Azimuthal offsets between molecular gas and star formation are expected if gas crosses spiral arms, as predicted by quasi-stationary density wave theory. In this work, we measure offsets between CO and Hα peaks in radial bins for 24

  • ATREIDES: I. Embarking on a trek across the exo-Neptunian landscape with the TOI-421 system
The distribution of close-in exoplanets is shaped by a complex interplay between atmospheric and dynamical processes. The Desert, Ridge, and Savanna (respectively a lack, overoccurence, and mild deficit of Neptunes with increasing periods) illustrate the sensitivity of these worlds to such processes, making them ideal targets to disentangle their

  • AT2022sxl: A Candidate Repeating Tidal Disruption Event in Possible Association with Two High-energy Neutrino Events
We report a candidate repeating tidal disruption event (TDE), AT2022sxl, found from large-field optical survey data. Two flares with a separation time of ∼7.2 yr between the two optical peaks are observed. Related mid-infrared (MIR) flares, with delay times of ∼200 days are also seen. We analyze two optical spectra of the TDE source, one near the

  • An Aligned Sub-Neptune Revealed with MAROON-X and a Tendency Toward Alignment for Small Planets
We present the Rossiter–McLaughlin measurement of the sub-Neptune TOI-1759A b with MAROON-X. A joint analysis with MuSCAT3 photometry and nine additional TESS transits produces a sky-projected obliquity of ∣λ∣ = 4° ± 18°. We also derive a true obliquity of ψ = 24° ± 12° making this planet consistent with full alignment albeit to <1σ. With a period

  • A Pristine-UNIONS view on the Galaxy: Kinematics of the distant spur feature of the Sagittarius stream traced by blue horizontal branch stars
Context. Providing a detailed picture of the Sagittarius stream offers important constraints on the build-up of the Galactic halo as well as its gravitational potential at large radii. While several attempts have been made to model the structure of the Sagittarius stream, no model has yet been able to match all the features observed for the stream

  • A Magnetic Field Detection in the Massive O-type Bright Giant 63 Oph
Surface magnetic fields are detected in less than 10% of the massive O-type star population and even less frequently among "old" massive stars approaching the terminal-age main sequence (TAMS). It is unclear to what extent the rarity of magnetic detections in massive stars near the TAMS is due to magnetic field decay or observational biases. We
